who euthanizes animals-the technician or the veterinarian?
who does the euthanasia usually of animals, the technician or the vet? is it possible for a vet tech to never euth. by request or is that a requirement of the job?(in other words would they get fired)

Either a veterinarian or licensed or certified technician can legally perform a euthanasia. Most of the time the vet does so when the owner is present, but many vets prefer to do the job themselves. It can be done by both. Euthanasia is a requirement, and you shouldn't go into the field if you're not comfortable with it. You won't get fired for refusing to do it, you just won't get hired in the first place.

Either the vet or the tech does it. It is likely a requirement of the job, you would have to work out otherwise with the vet who hired you. I think it's unlikely a vet tech who refused to participate in euthanasia procedures would be hired by most vet practices. You would also likely have to perform euthanasias in... More
