How do you get rid of carpenter ants in the kitchen?
About two years ago we built an extension onto our home, which was to serve as a large kitchen. Since then, everytime we get warm weather, we get carpenter ants everywhere! Could it be because the kitchen is on the second floor and is supported by wood beams that are untreated? They are so bad and we don't know what to do. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

get an exsterminator in there that would help alot keep them from coming back.it is the only way unless you want to go buy some raid and spray around the ouside of your home.your going to need alot of cans though.it does not cost much for an exsterminator and you will get rid of them for good.

There used to be a product at Lowes home centers, called Terro. It came in a little bottle and a few drops would do it. Just read the instructions on the bottle. They take it back to their nest and it kills all of them. Good luck.

I spray extra good in the kitchen since this is where I always see them. There are a few brands that make the granules. I get both at Lowe's or any home... More

I've been fighting with the ants as well and have turned to the inter-net for information. So far the information I have gathered is to not interfere with them until you first locate the nest. This is done by following the ants that are carrying food...it may take awhile. Once the nest is found I am going to sprinkle... More
