It can really depend on where you are going to be stationed at. If your children are under 10 and the same sex there is a possibility depending on what is available that you will only get a 2 bedroom. If they are opposite sex then the standard is 6 years old. depends if you live on base...im not sure with the navy but i know with the air force there is normally at least a two year wait...so you will have to find something off base and that will be up to you what neighborhood where how much rent etc. they will give you money for housing....but base housing usually looks... http://www.housing.navy.mil/onestop/ This website will allow you to search by installation and view floor plans, see pics, etc. I have lived on a Navy base when my husband was a Marine stationed in Kings Bay, GA. We were very happy with our housing. Best of luck!

my first question is how is he just enlisting and going in as an E-5 i dont think thats possible unless he is prior service and if he is prior he should know the drill....the healthcare is going to be the same that everybody else gets and the housing all depends on where you are some of hte housing is better than... It really depends on where you are going to be stationed, how old the housing is, and your standards. Home is what you make of it. We lived in a really old house once that was all cinderblock and hard floors. We didn't have much since we had just got married, it was awful. But others had taken the same space and cut... More

You will need a three bedroom unless the children are the same sex and the age difference is significant. Then you will get a 2 bedroom...
