What Government function has been privatized and worked well ?

It seems that Consertatives talk incessantly about the need to privatize, but I can't seem to recall anything that has worked or that the government hasn't had to step back in to clean-up the mess left behind after the money is gone. Remember the de-regulation of the power grid in the west? How about the de-regulation of the investment banking industry? maybe the perscription plan is working for you?

I can't think of any government function that has been privatized. The only decrease in government employees has been in the number of military personnel we have. I think if you look around we've been going the other way. The prescription drug program is a government run program and is going to cost, if not already... More

I can't think of anything in the US that has been privatized and works well In Poland health care has been privatized and it's become a disaster in terms of equal access

Microsoft is privatized and they charge whatever they want for their products while forcing you to have advertised software on your computer as well. This is the most extreme example. Life insurance is privatized and 90% of Americans don't have any. I can't answer your question
