Hygienists and Assistants...How to run a good office?

Can you give me some feedback on things that you love about working for your dentist, or things that frustrate you about your jobs? When I get into practice in a few years I want to do everything I can to keep a happy staff and create an environment where everyone is motivated and able do their very best work all the time! I'd love to hear your experiences.

Make sure that you have a set schedule. Don't try to pack in so many patients that your staff is having to work through lunch or late at the end of the day. allocate ONE person who works there FULL TIME to keep the stock full and ready to go...I can't tell you how much I hate hate hate it when stuff runs out!!

Be aware of time...devise a system for your Assistants and Hygienist to let you know when they have patients in the chair that need a hygiene check or are ready for procedures, and make sure that you respond to them in a timely fashion... More
