I am not disabled due to Pulmonary Fibrosis and had long term disability with Standard Insurance?
out of Portland Oregon.. They stopped my long term disability in March of 2004 and have not paid another penny to me even though I have stayed in constant contact with them....Anyone out there had trouble with them or another long term disability insurance company and what did you do about it. Thanks

Yes I have had trouble and was like pulling teeth to get paid. And I drove them nuts with my letters <sent registered mail, receipt requested> and numerous voicemails, there is something to be said about that squeaky wheel cliche. Did they give you an explanation as to why they terminated the long term disability? I don't understand how they can stop it for no reason. I treat patients in home health care with pulmonary fibrosis and some days it is more work for them to take a breath that anything...I would question their reasons, stay in contact... More
