Is there a decent book scanner to work with paperbacks?

I have more books than is probably healthy, both for fun and reference. I'd like to have access to the fun (of course) and access to searchable forms of the references while I'm not at home, so I'm looking around for a decent scanner to do the job. Anyone know of a good one? I've heard of problems with the PlusTek OpticBook line (mostly crashy software and cheap design), but has anyone done this for their collection and have a recommendation? Thanks!
