being on extra duty in the kitchen sucks as well as latrine duty. Cooks have a pretty tough job in terms of hours and the crap you put up with day to day. if you don't want to drive trucks dont sign up for any combat arms in the Army. depends a lot on you, I personally wouldn't like being a driver, cook, or mechanic. (some people love these jobs though) hit me up at if you want more info.

PaulW hit the nail on the head, it all depends on what you enjoy. When someone enlists in the US Army, they are able to choose what job they get. This is not the Vietnam era Army where everyone winds up in the Infantry. One thing is for sure though, every soldier is a trained janitor!

I would say no to laundry and bath, cook, driver, mechanic (light or heavy wheel).

Every job is important. But yeah, there are some jobs that suck. Depends what you're joining the military for. Obviously, if you're a physical type person, then Finance or some other desk job is going to suck. On the flip side, combat arms is probably not the place to be if you've got a problem sleeping in the mud and... More
