Heater cores are mounted to the firewall behind your dashboard. Most vehicles require that the entire dash come off, this includes, hvac controls, radio, glovebox, and the dash itself. Its a medium level job the dash comes out rather easily but the a/c has to be recovered and recharged this alone is about $140 bucks and the labor for removing the dash and heater box and installing the parts is about $350 bucks so it sound right .. lucky its not a grand Cherokee it would cost $1100 bucks
