What is your definition of a good mechanic?

I am asking about automechanics in general. My idea is somebody who started working on cars at a real young age, they started with on the job training then obtained a two year degree, they can make an automobile new again without spending unnecessary money, They have all the right tools and they know how to use them., and they are pay attention to detail. What would your requirements be?

I get a kick out of guessing the size and configuaration of engines just by the sound they make while passing my shop. I take pride in my... More
