What does an Administrative Assistant do? And is it a good job to start after graduating college?

I graduated last year and have limited work experience. I want to broaden my job search. I have a science major but can't really find entry level for my degree so I want to try out other jobs in the meantime (so I can go to grad school in a couple of years).

Administrative Assistant is usually the term for "secretary." They provide routine clerical and secretarial assistance, including appointments, correspondence, and filing.

I think the real question here is what do you love to do? If you are detailed oriented and can handle taking orders from others (boss) then an administrative position may work for you... More
