What is the best course of action to get into investment banking?

I'm about to start college doing maths economics physics and geogrpahy, i am thinking of either going into Banking or astrophysics, and was wondering what was the best course of action? i have been told try to get into a top university like the LSE and see what happens form there, but i would like some more solid infomation. thanks

Getting into investment banking is a bit easier (well, straightforward) if you go via university. Usually, investment banks target second-year students to join them on a 10-week summer internship to get to know their company and what investment banking is about. The biggest issue is going to a top schools. The banks have "target" schools and rarely hire anyone unconnected who did not attend one. The ivy league schools are the biggest targets, with Princeton and Dartmouth being the most represented per capita. I imagine LSE would be a target too... More

Take a (astro)physics degree, it's obviously necessary if you want to go into astrophysics but it's also one of the most common degrees to get into Investment Banking... More
