Has anyone ever quit a job before to go back to college?

Has anyone ever quit a job before to go back to college? If so when you went to look for a new job did the employer look down on the fact that you quit your job to go back to college?

I had a 21 year career in the Navy before I went back to college. Yes you read that right, I was in college in the early 1970's dropped out went in the service. I don't know yet. I just quit one job to go back to school and won't know until I apply for the next job. I think many employers are happy to have someone that is willing to improve their skills in order to get a better job.

yes i did and actually the employer that i left, offered to leave the "door open" so i could come back after i was done with college, but i was going into a different field and didnt want to ever work in retail again so i thanked him and respectfully declined...i dont think that employers should ever look down on... More

Going back to college is a great thing. It shows that you want bigger and better things for you and your family. It shows that you take control of your life. It can also lead to a higher salary. Going back to school is great if you can afford it.
