When will Americans wake up and realize that Obama is the best candidate for the job?

Most of the media except Sean Hannity knows this. The world sees this. Obama has transcended all boundaries. His visit to Europe has been very successful. We need to get behind this dynamic man and vote him into office. What do you think?

What has Europe got to do with this? They've caused more problems than anybody in the last 100 years. I didn't realize that the approbation of a bunch of closet fascist and socialists was the sine qua non of U.S. politics. Maybe that suits your ilk. The authoritarianism latent in your approach (i.e. Obama or else, Obama right or wrong) is entirely European.

Most Americans have. And come November, you'll see that we have "woken up."

God I love hearing the Conservatives and Republicans badmouth Obama. The last pathetic grasp of a party that has been run into the ground with the extremists, and all they have is the insults and speculation regarding Obama. He's muslim, he's weak, he's an evil Liberal, he's a terrorist sympathizer. He'll put us all in danger, he's inexperienced (didn't stop you from voting for Bush, lame duck governor of Texas who sat there and had to take the Dem controlled House in Texas).....blah, blah, blah, blah. Let's badmouth Obama, do a bunch of drilling for possible oil in the ground that we won't see for 10 years, and invade Iran, proving to the world that we're the warmongering blood thirsty inbreds that they believe we to be. Hahahahahaha!

Take your a*s kicking in November and no crying. There's no crying in politics. You've reaped a horrible reputation by being the party that has supported Bush, and now you'll reap what you sow. Prepare for total dominance of the Dems over your party in November, and you have your knight in shining armor, Jesus, I mean, Bush, to blame for it.

If you can't see why Obama is the best candidate, and why Bush has been such a God awful nightmare for this country, I can't help you. More than half of the U.S. knows it, and most of the world knows it. Why you don't know it, that's your problem.

The media adores him. So.....that's why we should vote him as president? The media is biased and liberal and slick. The world adores him? Maybe the terrorists adore him. Why? Because he'll stop the war. But they won't stop the war. Because he will keep drilling in their countries, ignoring the cheap, American oil we have right here!! That's why terrorirst will adore him. Americans will never wake up and realize that he's right for the Presidency, because he never will be. It's scary to think that we're even thinking about voting him into office. Do we really want a man leading our country who won't even say the pledge of alliegance? I'd rather have an American hero running for the Presidency...oh wait. That's John McCain.

You are somewhat naive to think this. Obama is a first term senator with no practical experience at all. He has done nothing so far with his political career and only has "black" roots as a reason for poor and minority voters to support him. Exactly why do you think he is the best candidate ? What exactly has he done politically to make you think he was better then anyone else that ran this year ? Don't get caught up in the hype of electing the first "black" president.

You should vote for a candidate based on their record and performance. Base your decision on facts, not hype. If you, and the rest of America, did this, Obama would not even be in this position as he has nothing of record to show so far since he is still too new to politics.

Perhaps in about 15 years after he as actually done something, he might be ready for the presidency, but for now, he is just too new to be our commander in chief.

So far, what one detects, is that Obama has opinions that sway with the breeze, which, is not good for a leader to have. Vision, wisdom, and experience are what one should look for. At the national level, Obama has none of these attributes, my friend.

All of your flowery descriptions and you haven't given one reason that qualifies Obama as the best candidate for the job.

Convince me without using the liberal talking point of the day.

Hitler transcended boundaries.... he invaded Poland. Hitler was very successful in Europe. Even before the war he was quite popular among Europeans. Hitler was dynamic... you can't deny that......

I wouldn't vote for Hitler either.

Obama is dynamic, but there is little substance. Change, yes we can.... means nothing to me.

Tell me why Obama is the best candidate. Not simply that he is better than McCain or that McCain is Bush all over again. WHY is Obama the best candidate.....

What has he done to make him so? What powerful legislation has he been a part of? What in his education or history puts him so far above all others that he is so demonstrably better?

I'll wait.

Never because he isn't the best candidate! Do I really need to go through some of the reasons?!

He is a flip flopper on a scale much bigger than Kerry. He flip flops so much he makes Kerry look decisive.

His close friends, and mentors are racists, terrorists, communists, and crooks.

He has been a Senator only 144 days and in that time he has dodged every vote on tough issues by voting "Present".

He has no foreign policy experience. I am sorry but the Obama Magical Mystery tour of the Middle East is not foreign policy experience.

He is an empty suit that can speak well when given prewritten statements but sounds more uneducated than Bush when he has to talk with out a teleprompter. This is why he won't do the townhall debates McCain wanted him to do.

He is a Marxist.

He is an elite, vain, snob.

He came out with a commercial bashing McCain's enery plan saying that it wouldn't produce a drop of oil for ten years. In the commercial he further invites you to go to his website to see his plan. I went to his website and his plan won't produce a drop of oil ever.

Do you need more? I got a million of em.

His " I'm against the surge but it's working" is just another example of his ego being in control instead of what's right .

I knew it from the first time I heard the kid open his mouth. Obama is nice guy, smart guy and foreign leaders love him because he's real.

So much of American foreign image is just a greedy fascist front. That's what Bush represents - the Big Oil interests who rob countries of their natural resources and will kill anybody anytime and then deny it thrice before the cock crows.

It's amusing to see the "christian" right wing defend this kind of world fascism with it's needless wars.

Obama represents the hope that something of humanity exists beside this Bush-American fascism that sees the entire world as a place to just screw, rob and abandon.

My question would be, how do you know he is the best man for the job? What has his record as a Senator shown you to convince you he is the best? I would imagine there are more silver-tongued devils and great orators out there that we just don't know about. I realized a long time ago that it is the media who gets the candidate elected in the first place. Bill Clinton is a prime example. The media thought they had it in the bag before George was elected, but, somehow, the voters fooled them and they have never recovered from it. I'm not saying Bush was the best choice, but it was evident that the public was fed up with the media then, and I think they will be again when Obama is elected. We'll all keep our fingers crossed that everything Obama wants to do to, and, for this country, is not something we will all regret.
And, I hope the day will come when people can, and will, make up their own minds without being guided by what they think the popular thing to do is and investigate all the facts for for themselves.
Answered By: cmjackpot - 7/22/2008
Ok. I never write a long answer, but this might require one.

Most of the media, in my point of view ,is conservative and does not, and will not , support a democrat for office. Your correct about Hannity, and his formal conservative approach to politics. This is the norm. In the past three elections news media has made a point that they can sway an election. Why? Well, that is not your question and I wont bother going there.

I for one, am tired of cable news playing individuals that have a liberal or conservative approach. This is not news anymore, but a network showing ONE point of view and trying to influence millions. I for one never turned on CNN or FOX to hear one person tell me what they think, untill 10 yrs ago.

I think your questions is valid, but misguided. The country is behind Obama. The alternative is worrisome for most. In my mind this is a hands down election for Obama. His backing and funding is unreal. Just worry about the southern sates swinging in the republicans favor. For troublesome reasons.

Keep in mind, you will hear Hannity and The Factor bash Obama for the next four to eight years when he wins. It does not matter what he does.

If you listen to Hannity and The Factor to determine that the country is not behind him, you are mistaken.

I for one am not an Obama fan, and this is for only one reason, and one that I will not discuss here. I will more than likely vote for him, b/c he obviously is the better of the two.

I agree with you on this point. Again, most republican will stick with their party no matter what. Democrats have a more liberal approach, and will vote for the better of the two candidates. In this election, the Dems win. No question.

d**n, everyone lets get our Gov back and start moving in the right direction.

So today I went in for an interview and I was going in for the 2nd interview by the head chief executive. now this is where it got weird, so she asked me about my previous jobs and said how much she liked that product over that product. then she started talking about her daughter? an her divorce ...then how she didn't finish college because she was making more money doing what she did for this company ... then she talked about how her teenage daughter is a handful... I just played it cool thinking she was using some sort of psychology thing to trick me into saying something stupid. the interview ended and she seemed happy an I was escorted to the door... now I'm freaking confused? is this normal behavior for an executive? like it felt like she was going to burst into tears at one point and tell me her life problems... is this normal? was she trying to see how I react or something?

Basically- no degree, although I have tried completing one in the past and stopped because of physical and mental health issues which were overwhelming to deal with along with going to classes full time. I'm not stupid and I am quite articulate. I am 23 and have only worked for about two years retail in high school and stopped working to go to university. I worked a few months in 2010 retail after I dropped out but it was only a seasonal position, and the only reason why I have not been able to constantly work is because of mental health issues. I had also tried going back to community college during my free time since i left university in 2008/9 and I had panic attacks while in community college, which made my anxiety worse from then on. Well recently I met a good doctor and he prescribed me some meds that are stabilizing my moods and I feel the best I've felt in years, and I'm ready to work. Thing is, I don't know how to get a job now since I've spent literally years being depressed and anxious doing nothing. I don't really have anything to put on my resume, and I never finished my AA degree either. All I've done is cashiering and although I do the job well and I get promoted easily when I do these jobs because I'm a hard worker and I try to go above and beyond what they ask of me,which is the attitude I have no matter what kind of work I'm doing as long as I'm getting paid. But I hate cashiering because it's too easy and I want a job that is more interesting. Any suggestions for me on how to get a job that is NOT Retail with the type of background I have right now? I also realize I have to go to college to get certain types of jobs, I am talking about what I can do right here right now.

I'm applying for a software development job and I'm very short and can look young so I'm trying to look adult, yet professional. I'm also attractive so I'm trying not to look too sexy. For the career fair I'm thinking of wearing just my nice shirt and a skirt with low heels. My reasoning being it's approachable and attractive without going overboard since the career fair hosts are mostly younger male recent grads. I want to be remembered but not intimidating. For my interviews I was thinking pants, suit jacket (power suit). My reasoning being it'll be older execs and HR people (mostly women) so less sexy with the pants but more powerful with the suit jacket. What do you think?!

I am in the process of planning my own wedding and I am having a fantastic time doing so. I have always enjoyed planning things: group vacations for my friends and I, road trips, etc... I could be described as a slight control freak and I am a perfectionist. I know I would exceed, and enjoy my career, if I were to make this a possibility. How do I do it? How do I get my name out there? How much do event planners charge for their services? I have a lot of questions, and hope that people who are self employed would be able to give me some pointers on getting my business up and running. Thank You in advance for your time and help.

Being a student my budget is limited so any help regarding specific retail outlets to go to would be very helpful. I am working in downtown toronto for Deloitte (accounting firm) and the summers are very hot here in Canada. Any specific advice on what clothing items this MALE student should wear to work would be helpful. The dress code is "business casual". As if any student knows what that means.

I'm applying online for a job at Debenhams. It's just a temporary part time job but I have no previous retail experience, just in customer service, and I am finding some of the questions rather difficult. Our commitment to training and development encourages our people to grow their futures with us. If successful in joining our team, how will you become an expert at what you do? and At Debenhams, our people make all the difference to our customers. If you were a Stock Movement Adviser with us, how would our customers know that you are focused on their individual shopping experience? Any help in answering these questions would be greatly appreciated, many thanks!

I know that Escrow is within Title industry in Texas. What would be the best way to get my foot in the door. I am assuming I will have to start as an Escrow assistant and work my way up, but I would really like to find out more about this career path. How does an officer usually get licensed? Are there classes we need to take and exam to take? Any response is appreciated.
