When a job application requires X years experience, how serious are they?

I see one job that requires a high school diploma but three years of relevant experience. It's a business analyst job with an HMO. Okay. I have a college degree so I'll just apply and see.

What they are serious about is demonstrated capacity to perform the function without extensive training. If you can demonstrate that capacity, then you are satisfying their needs. If you have little to no relevant experience or education, your odds of being the person they want are not very good.

dont worry about it. just go in there and bs them till you get the job. tell them what they want to hear. and worse case scenario they don't call you back. trust me... it works ive been using this formula for years now and ive climbed my way up the ladder pretty quick.

Be ready to blow them away with your interview. Research the company and position to prepare a mock interview with relevant examples.
