Is North Carolina or Texas a good place to live for Hispanic people?

I am now finishing my bachelors degree here in Miami, FL but I want to leave the state with my wife (she is Hispanic also) to go to Raleigh, North Carolina or Dallas/ Austin, Texas. I have heard many stories of how up north there is a lot of hate/racism towards Hispanic people. Does anyone know if these are good/safe places for Hispanic couple like me and my wife?

Raleigh and Austin are similar, diverse medium sized cities with a lot of colleges in the area, but I personally prefer Raleigh. It's a very nice city and most people are friendly there.
