Would you let your hair guy go over this? I did.
Would you let your favorite hair guy go over this? I had been seeing the same hair stylist for years. He always made me feel great and happy sitting in his chair for my services.. until recently. I am just a normal 40 year old lady who is a career professional and I keep things really simple. Nothing crazy, down to earth etc. My hair guy WAS the same. My last hair appt was unnerving. I was brought to his work area while he finished his last client ( he often ran late, but that is ok with me. ) I sat there and watched a little African American girl get an awesome flat iron hair done.. SHe looked adorable. Her mom and an entire family... mom, dad, grandma sat near by. Mom told me her daughter is adopted ect.. and that her hair is only done by Richie and she brings her there once a week to get a flat iron.. I also felt very out of my "class" as mom and grandma clearly had so much money it was ozzing out of thier designer duds and hair extentions.. they left and that he sees the entire group weekly... they come for the kid and mom's extenstiosn.. they live on a very ritzy end of town and he went on and on about all the plastic work the gals had, collegen ect.. He made fun of them behind thier backs.. ( Made me wonder if he does that to me with my Target outfits.. ) As the appt went on. I found out that the salon that he works in is due to be going on a reality show makeover by some unknown british wanna be star who cleans up the shop, remodels and has the place hoping much like Gordon Ramsey Kitchen Nightmares.. He also told me they would be filming him during the next week and he had hand selected "pretty customers" including the ones he poked fun at with thier enormous lips and fake boobs due to they will look good on camera. It shocked me, hurt my feelings and I thought geesus christ are you kidding me? That show will be on Bravo this month.. Tabatha Salon Take Overs.. the whole thing is staged.. this was a booming business and the show makes it look like it's a starvig salon... the people are filmed all wearing the same color polo shirts... they always wore their own clothes...ect.. it is all fake including the lady named Tabatha who was born and raised here in the states who lived in London for awhile.. her accent is a cheap as a dime store knock off... I called the salon after to make an appt for a hair cut.. I was told my hair guy was too busy and I needed to be added 6 weeks down the road.. and I asked if there was anyway I could see him sooner.. they suggested I use another salon!! I left my hair guy emiails.. with no response. I think he thinks he hit the fame big time and can't do the normal hum drums like me... NICE isn't it.

Sounds like your stylist has really let this show go to his head. He was VERY unprofessional to talk about other clients behind their back right after they left and it does make you wonder if he does the same with everyone... More

I would definitely find another salon to go to. And remember, some reality series do flop, and if that one does, they just might start calling up their "old customers" to try to get them back... More

Yea, you're right, after being their client for all those years you would think they would treat you a heck of a lot better than this. I, for one don't intend to watch the show. Maybe if you spread the word enough people will avoid watching it and it will flop. Then reality will smack him in the face and he will... More

OMG HE GETS TO MEET TABITHA? If i were you I'd be sucking up to him so bad to be on the show and meet her. And if he does your hair perfectly then you shouldn't give him up for anything, you only have to put up with him for a few hours every once in a while.
