what exactly does a graphic designer do?

im thinking about majoring in graphic design but what kind of jobs are open to graphic designers? are graphic designers in demand or is it a hard job to get when you finish your degree? where can i find more info about graphic design?

To be honest Graphic design is one of the hardest industries to get into, I wanted to do that cause I design graphics on the P.C and have done for several years now. I work in an office doing completely the opposite. Lol But what you can do with that major is design houses, objects, websites.

i think they design anything on the web..? websites, computer games, editing animated not sure though.

If we think of the same kind of graphic design, then I wanna tell youyouat my dad is a graphic designer. He has his private firm. He designs logos for web sites, companies etc. I don't know if I misunderstood you, but I hope I said something that helped you.
