How much does it cost to get started in Mary Kay?

Is it very profitable selling Mary Kay? It seems people start out thinking it will be great but it ends up being a lot harder than they thought. How much money does it take to get started?

In USA it is $100 to get the starter kit which has $323 of full size products. We are also running a promotion in the month of Aug where you can get your $100 back ask your consultant for the details she should also be able to provide you a sheet which shows you everything in the kit and explains how it works. For the started kit it is $150. You get a the cleansers, moisturizers, day and night solution. And a few things of makeup. I use to sell it but had a bad experience with my rep. Actually all of these answers are a little off......the start up kit is $100 plus $17 dollars of shipping and handling and during this month (August) there is a new consultant deal running.
