How can I account for an employment gap on my resume?
I'm returning to the work force after 8 years. During that time period I have been a stay at home mom. My child is older now and I want to start working again. I'm trying to make a resume, however, I don't know how to make that look good on paper. You can't get a job anywhere without a resume. Has anyone been in this same situation? I would appreciate any and all suggestions. Thank you very much.

Don't worry! This is very common. Just come up with the volunteer things you've did in the past eight years such as: Room mom, Bake Sale coordinator, event planner for..." and rather than leaving it blank put one of those as your position title. Just tell the truth. Most employers no longer consider that a bad thing, the stay at home mom re-entering the workforce.
