How long should I wait to follow-up on a job application?

I applied for a position at Nordstrom today, and I was wondering how long I should wait before I call them up.

give them 2 days. then call every day, so they know how interested you are. If they say "We'll call you on friday", call them on thursday and tell them "Someone told me to call back today" Persistence will make you stand out more than the rest
