Taking care of a state, if done well, is of some benefit. Senate service is one of the worst qualifications you can have.

Alaska takes care of itself as one of the most federally protected states in the nation, if not the most. Senator dealing with foreign policy is already ahead, without any other duties mentioned.

Good point. Taking care of a state is a lot harder than pushing a button, and reforming a state can be very hard.

It's much more rewarding (for someone like Obama) to accept campaign funds from domestic terrorists like Bill Ayers, and from foriegn governments.

I think learning the ins and outs of the Constitution and writing bills (what the Vice President is supposed to do, as long as they know the Constitution and know how to word a bill so it fits within the Constitution) is much easier than canceling a bridge contract because the Federal Government wouldn't shell out... If all the things stated of Obama's deeds are true, of which I have no doubt, would it be not best to keep him where he is to work for the people? As president all he will get to do is sign or veto bills. And I'd rather have a strong congress than a half a..ed president.
