Is it true that leaving off my college degree will help me find a job?

I've heard that from people. That's depressing that employers don't respect a college degree. How stupid has this country gotten? I already have a job but it totally sucks and I need to get a new one. My current manager is about to get his business shut down! It's food service.

It really depends on the job. For many jobs that DON'T require degrees, then yeah, it may be best that you omit it.

I think that it is very important to list it, but I agree that work experience is far more important. There are a LOT of people out there with degrees who cannot figure out how to apply their education-

The reason for not listing your degree is that you would be overqualified for the job. Otherwise, you should list it so that they know you have the necessary education. I don't know where you are from, but here in MI, if you don't have a 4 year degree, you can hardly get a job at a fast food restaurant. Probably... More

If you are applying for a fast food job they probably won't care. Anything else this is important. Many applications get pitched in the trash unless they see a degree. It is an easy way to cut the applicants down to a more likely bunch... More
