Are you worried about being laid off?

Several large companies (that I know of) are reluctantly preparing for massive layoffs if they can't get immediate (within a couple weeks) financing to maintain operations, which they normally have access to. If the "bail-out" bill doesn't pass, the financial system will further collapse, leaving companies without access to financing. Are you worried about your job if the financial markets further collapse?

Nope. I am recession and depression proof. Back when the morons sold this fine nation down the drain for a sleazy $326 vote bribe tax rebate and trip to the mall and put plunderers like Bush and Halliburton in the White House, I snapped out of it and began to invest for the first time in my life elsewhere than in... I won't lose my job because I work in the essential services sector. No matter what happens they will always need people in my profession. I do feel tremendous compassion for the many families who will be facing an uncertain future. For many years I have advocated for those living in poverty and I can see the social... More

I heard that the bill was not passed so I think we're all (you yanks especially) in for a rough ride. Good luck every one, make wise decisions and see you on the other... More

No. I'm the co owner. Hehehehe. Nor do I lay off other employees. Either you are fired for a good reason or you quit on your own.

I'm not worried about my job now, because I have a crappy job working at Target and that job is pretty safe. But I'm graduating from college in another two semesters, and I know for a fact that my degree will not get me any sort of decent job in this market. In short, I'll be stuck working my crappy job at Target after... More

Right now, no. I was laid off from industry, and have started working for a charitable organization. The pay is less, but with more people using these organizations, they need more employees to help run their daily operations. We have a back-log of work at the moment... More

I was laid off my last real job several years ago and haven't been able to find a real job since that time. Now FINALLY more and more Americans are being discarded and perhaps someone will begin to care about those of us discarded a few years ago...after sept 11 there were big layoffs.

I am currently laid off now. Been that way since May. Haven't found a job, yet. Am working with a Temp Agency, but no jobs yet. I have bad luck with getting laid off. Ever since my first real job, I've been laid off every 3 years without fail. I Believe unemployment is getting sick of me, as I of them. 152.00 a week... More
