Should I wear a sports jacket to a job interview?

I am interviewing with State Farm on campus for a summer internship. I would really like to work there. I plan on wearing a white shirt and tie, but was wondering if a sports jacket was too much. What do you think?

State Farm is a conservative company that may have some slightly old-fashioned views. I guess it would depend on what type of intern position you are applying for, whether it is at corporate or agency level. Depends entirely on the dress code. Scope the place out before the interview and check the staff out. If they all have sports jackets then it shouldn't present a problem. Having said that though, I don't think it's possible to overdress for an interview.
