Is Kelsey Grammer really the right actor to play Gen. George S. Patton?

I just saw the trailer for "An American Carol", and I noticed that Kelsey Grammer is playing General Patton! Don't get me wrong. I really like the show "Frasier", but it's just that he looks SORT OF like Gen. Patton in the movie, but he still sounds like Frasier Crane! Do you think he was cast for the part, because there were no other conservative actors who could play Patton? Come to think of it, Dennis Hopper is also in the movie. He probably would have been a better fit for the role than Kelsey Grammer!

Hey, if his "brother" David Hyde Pierce can play John Dean -- and he did a great job in Oliver Stone's otherwise-ridiculous "Nixon" -- why not?

You do realize that actors don't have to match the political views of the character they're playing, right?

Why a "conservative" actor? Are not actors actors? Besides it is a movie not reality.

He's okay for a part in a movie that looks stupid. I wouldn't worry about it... this movie will be forgotten in a month.

Depends how good an actor he is, I'd back him to beat Paul Newman even in the sound dept at this point.. more like sideshow Bob if you ask me!
