You have a very narrow view of what customer service is. Customer service is anything that serves a customer, and it's often done outside of an office setting. customer service requires a nice, patient person. would you say you are good with people? Its really what you make of it.

i work in customer service and love helping and advising my clients, i work for HME wireless, we make the paging systems for like Olive Garden and all Sorts of different restaurants, the little coaster looking device that the host will give you and lights up when ready to be seated, i deal with the repair and replace... I wouldn't say I love my job, it's ok but I certainly don't hate it. I find that senior managers and Directors are usually really nice and appreciative of your help. The people who cause me the most grief are nobodies in the company who think they are somebodies or jumped up secretary's and PAs!
