Vinyl is a cheap and easy way of flooring. It offers various patters and is easy to apply. My personal favorite is carpet though, most comfortable. You can also buy fake wood flooring, but it is a little tricky to install sometimes.

Laminate flooring is inexpensive and can be lay-ed in a day. It is pretty much fool proof. I would never recommend the tile with the adhesive. My mom and I had put that down once in our home and the cleaning of the glue was never ending.

personally I'd choose sheet vinyl tile over the individual stick-ons. more work up front (cutting primarily) but no spaces that water and garbage will seep into, causing them to unpeel and curl.

Laminate floor is easy and somewhat inexpesive. About $1/sqft without underlayment. It's pretty durable too.
