Does your engineering career make your soul happy?

I know this probably sounds like a stupid question, but beyond the good pay and prestige, does your engineering job make you happy? Have you made good friends at your company? Do you enjoy your job? Give me details. I am considering a career in civil engineering, and while I am very good at math and am creative, I am concerned that engineering will either be too business oriented for me (im not a business person at all) or I will feel all couped up in an office everyday. What do you think?
