anyone else work in care homes?wots ur feelins and emotions?

i work wiv an agency and also bank staff wiv care home,emi or mental health,sum pds.wen i am at wrk i feel as tho i am doin my duty for my counrty and caring for pple who dun their duty for the country but occasionally i get emotioanl and wonder why i do the job as the amount of abuse i get,does anyone else get theese feelings? i ahv been in care work 4yrs now and find the same in each place i go

I worked in the care sector for a number of years and loved it .It hard work and very under paid as you have to deal with many different kinds of people an situations . I worked in nursing homes for a number of years and whilst it is personally rewarding it can be very stressful. Maybe you need some time off to try something else.

I also work in a care home, i work in a locked dementia unit for the elderly. Its a very hard emotianal job, and yes we get both verbaly and phsically abused, but we are in this job because we care, and we are all human and have emotions, thats what makes us who we are, I think anyone doing the job we do deserves a... I have been a certified nursing assistant for over 15 years and I totally understand what you mean but I just put myself in their shoes, I know for a fact I wouldn't be as pleasant as some people I have cared for!
