How hard is it to become a fire investigator/fire man?

I hear it is pretty competitive right now, but it sounds like a great job. So if you had training at like, a community college or something, how hard would it be to get a job in that general area?

If you're preparing to be an ordinary fireman, good luck, because you need insider help getting that job, it's like winning the lottery. a couple of my buddies are doing it and were said to have jobs when they got out, they have to be there for like 2 years making shit money and if they do a good job then they can stick around. you gotta be a tough dude because my friends went thru some intense training....good luck!

Being a firefighter is a great job. I have always recommended getting a college degree. There are many colleges that have fire science degree programs.
