Am i on the right path to becoming a Army Pilot?

hey, well today i finally got through meps and enlisted in the army, and i just wanted to get your opinions on my path. My main goal is to become an Apache pilot, or any heli i can get. I am 18, and will go to bootcamp, followed by AIT in June. the MOS i got is 15Y - - AH-64D Armament/Electrical/Avionic Systems Repairer, and i am dedicated to it for 6 years. When i get out i will be about 26 years old maximum, and i want to apply for the WOFT program, with 6 years experience working on a helicopter i should do perfect on the AFAST, and i also have about 60 hours towards my private pilots license. Im hoping all of this will get my into the flight training program ( my asvab score was 70, and all my line scores were 120+ ) Does this sound like a reasonable path for me to go? i didn't know i could apply right away for the flight school before even going to another MOS first, and serving time, but im thinking that i am doing it the right way because im sure they will want people with 6 years serving time under their belt over someone who has none. what do you guys think? And also is my MOS considered hard to get or is it just a "typical" MOS?

They will gripe and moan, but they don't own you yet. If you've got the prerequisites, you could hold out for a Warrant Officer "Street to Fleet" slot. This... More
