Where do I start looking for Substitute teaching jobs in California?

I sent in my application for a 30 substitute teaching permit, and waiting the 50 days for the permit to be cleared. Now I'm wondering where on earth to I start looking and HOW do I approach finding a substitute teaching job? Any subs out there able to give me an idea of the path ahead? Thank you...

Contact the county Office of Education. They will need to validate your permit, and they will probably have a short seminar to give you information on all the procedures - how to find jobs, how pay is handled, etc. In a number of counties, once you have registered your permit, you can find substitute jobs on line... call different schools in your area once you get your permit and tell them you are interested in being a sub at their school.

Go to the school-board and fill out and application. But you can check out this website first..
