How would I get a receptionist job?

I'm 20 years old and I'm extremely interested in getting a receptionist job. I'm great at typing and have excellent communication skills. I've worked phones before, but other than that I have zero experience in the field. I know that I'm qualified, but when employers see my resume they don't even give me a chance. Any suggestions?

Keep trying. There are a lot of people looking for jobs right now so the competition is high. Make sure your resume is in top shape and just keep plugging. Try the smaller, independent offices also. Hello, You must write your resume, in a way that it will be appealing to them and they will invite you for a job interview. For example to emphasize How good your communication skills are, and that you are very skill and fast at typing.

Without a lot of sufficient exprience, I doubt whether they would hire you as a receptionist. You would have to start at the bottom and work your way up. There are jobs like office assisting, office clerking, file clerk, mail clerk, or something like that. When you grow with the company, they will see the skills that... More

Try going to a temp. agency. They will give you a typing test so you can prove to them your typing skills are adequate & a few other office/clerical tests to see were you stand. They will also interview you right away & there is your chance to show your personality & communication skills. Good luck:)
