I was interested in becoming a bill collector, but how do I get started?

Im not sure what qualifications you need to become a bill collector, but Im really interested in becoming one. I never see any job postings in the newspaper, craigslist, commercials so I was wondering do I need to go to school for a paticular degree. I would like some help from those who have or are still currently a bill collecter, maybe on how you got your start. Thanks for your time.
