when you dial 999 , is it usually the same old 'idiot' answering your call ?

i had a false alarm recently, apparently thought I was being burgled around 2am while I slept downstairs heh (it turns out it was someone fixing up a sandwich in the kitchen...yeah go ahead laugh, if it makes you feel better) lets just say that had it not been a false alarm, the burglers would have entered whilst the idiot on the other end would have quizzed me about every mundane little detail surrounding 'my circumstances' and what have you. I don't give a flying f@#! about being open and direct about issues like this, I speak the truth. poltical correctness-ism can take it up the butth0le for all i care, there was indeed an idiot who recieved my 999 call, who potentially could have cost me my peace of mind and maybe more. The tone of that individuals voice seemed to indicate they hated their job and got off on p1ssing ppl off in emergency scenarios. have you ever dialed 999 and had an idiot on the recieving end answer your call ??

No as when ever I have had to call an ambulance for my Mother, they ask me a dozen routine questions but at the same time reassure me that the ambulance is on it's way and that the questions being asked of me will not delay the process of them arriving at all.

What most callers don't realise is that they don't take your call then dispatch the service required when they have all the details. The operator gets the address and immediately sends a log to the dispatcher so a unit can be sent whilst further details can be obtained for the benefit of the attending personnel.Often... I have dialled 999 three times and yes the are quite slow and pedantic, with good reason. It is a case of hurry slowly particularly with a person who is rightly or wrongly afraid. Full details are needed to prevent a waste of time in driving to the incorrect location by the incorrect emergency service which in itself... More

As you have been told, although the operator is taking your details, the emergency is already being dealt with. If they didn't received hoax calls then perhaps there would be no need for you to give so many details. Also, are you aware that there are many other 999 calls happening at the same time as yours...
