Obama is lucky that Hillary accepted his offer as Secretary of State, because she is taking a huge risk to work for someone who misrepresented her positions during the primary, and played the race card against her. In addition to your points, there are. c. not running as McCain's VP, d. not mentioning the birth certificate issue, and e. not mentioning about Obama's broken promise to pay off her campaign debt over the summer. Obama needs Hillary more than Hillary needs him, because Hillary is a leader, and he is a follower. At least we can feel comfortable on who will be taking the 3am calls.

I think his third party business is what got him there. And I am not sure what they are up to. I just know it probably isn't any good. She looks totally defeated today.

Zero percent.
She would have lost the primaries even if she did not concede.
Running 3rd party would have ruined her, not obama - and it was really too late anyways by june.

Now you see, this would be something Republicans would do. Since Hillary is a Democrat, the answer is no.

I don't think that's what happened. But, I do think that when she conceded, he told her he'd find a plum spot for her in his organization in exchange for her and Bill's endorsement/stumping leading up to the general election.

I don't think HIllary black mailed Obama. I have to say though that point A wouldn't work since Hillary had to concede since she didn't gather enough delegates. I guess she could have run as a 3rd party candidate but I have no idea why she would do that. Hillary is a loyal Democrat and I could not see her being anything else.

No, sweetie. After stop thinking Bush is the greatest president of the entire world, Neo-cons's brain is filled with wonders of strange things and obsessed over Obama. Conspiracy theories are for sore losers who supported an unAmerican Panama foreigner like John McCain.

I think she most likely did force his hand. He owes her some funding from the primary.
And remember she is the one who leaked the info she was going to be the Secretary of State.

No. Sen. Clinton had no choice but to concede... she lost.

No.
She had to concede the primaries, she was taking her party down with her by not giving it up, and had she continued would have cost the election, and her political career.
And no, again.
She would have never carried enough votes as a 3rd party to win the election, and again, would have only cost her party the election and therefor given up any chance at a political career.
You need to understand that a politician is most times loyal to party first. Both of your options leave her losing, and without a job at the end of her senate term and shunned from her party going forward.
And no established 3rd party that I know of would take her, especially not if she tried A or B.

I only know that by having Hilary as secretary of State, Obama just stuck his foot up his ying yang! What's next, Mr. Clinton and Monica for desert? Obama's actions should tell the American people what kind of hell the United States is really going to be in by the year 2010 if not sooner. Get prepared people, he's only just begun, begun, gun, gun,...

No, I think he's putting her there to stop her from running again in 2012. He knows he's broken a barrier by being elected first black president. First female president isn't that big a stretch from there. If her puts her in as secretary of state, she'll probably be happy there for 8 years. At the very least, she won't want to risk her job by going against him in another campaign. She would probably wait til 2016 to try again, and this time with all that additional foreign policy experience. I honestly think that's his plan. To fill up his cabinets with his biggest "rivals", as everyone's calling them, so that he doesn't have much decent competition in 4 years.

There can be no doubt that Hillary's appointment was a result of a back room deal in exchange for her and Bill's support during the campaign.
He said during the primaries that her foreign policy experience consisted entirely of "sipping tea" with the other wives..and he was correct. Appointing her is a complete reversal, but he could have done it to take her out of politics.
After this job is over, what does she have?

Lets not forget that sHrillery stole 900 FBI files to use against her political rivals, there is nothing the Clintons would not do to gain power.
Certainly, the Clintons pressured Obama to give them a key position, in Obama's government; by definition, yes it was blackmail or extortion. The dirty deal was done long ago, sHrillery would never have supported Obama after the primaries if she wasn't going to gain something precious, in return.
The Clintons are all about what's best for them!
This is how the Clintons roll.
