How big of demand is it for Java programmer?

Well, the question is just that. I am planning on going to school for Java programing, and when I get out of school will I be able to find a job rather quickly, or is it going to be hard to find one? Another question that I'm also wondering how much Java programers get paid.

The demand for programmers in general is fairly high, but I'm worried that the receding economy is going to stifle that demand in the short term. Java has many uses in mobile and web applications, but it's being replaced on the web with things like Flash, which tends to have better performance... More
