Looking for a place to live...?

I currently live in New Jersey and I need some change. I want to move to a nice area with not too many people, but not too few. I'm currently in college for psychology and when I get my associates degree I would like to transfer out of state. Thus because I'm in college I can't afford high rent and it would be nice if a job were an easy thing to get. I prefer nature. I especially would like to live near water. But more of a lake or river. Bugs are something I'd like to avoid. But nobody gets everything they want. To sum it up, I would like to know of a nice, not too crowded area surrounded by beautiful nature and where I could further my education and hopefully have a decent job. Also, it has to be in the United States. um... specific places would be grateful i.e. towns, provinces, counties, etc.
