Do the retail and employment stats suggest that Americans have faith in Obama's abilities?

Retail sales are down and unemployment is on the rise. Does this imply that Americans didn't really vote for change, since the numbers don't reflect CONFIDENCE in this new administration?

Well, let me see. We are facing a global economic crisis of unprecedented proportions and the brand new President-Elect has about as much experience, knowledge of or insight into economic issues as your next door neighbor. We are still feeling the after effects of Bush and his quest to totally ruin America. Obama hasnt had a chance yet to heal and restore faith. Its the fault of the republicans entirely. We can thank Bush for this mess. Totally Bush.

The current rates are reflecting a downturn YEAR. Its not about Obama. Its about the current administration. We've lost about a MILLION jobs so far in 2008.

I don't think this has anything to do with confidence. Retail sales are down because people do not have any money. No jobs, no money, no sales it has nothing to do with Obama.

All things economic are pretty messed up, and even Obama has said it will take a couple of years to begin making our way through this mess. I think that the... More

I haven't seen anything new or changed by Obama, his entire cabinet are a bunch of retreads from the Clinton administration and he's moving to the right so fast it's really making the left wingers angry. The only good thing he's done is backing off of his tax increases against the rich...theres nothing new about Obama... More
