Do you believe in the sovereignty of nations or do you believe we are all citizens of the world?

Do you believe the UN should take precedence over our constitution for the good of the world, or should our elected officials consider themselves to be representative of what is best for the American people who elected them within the context of cooperation with other countries? When you lose your job due to globalization, do you feel you should just accept it as being part of improving the lot of the poor nations of the world while you join them in their plight or do you feel our representatives should actually represent their constituents?

National sovereignty supersedes all other interests . For only the people living in their country know what is best for their interests .

I believed if we considered ourselves citizens of the world rather than our own countries, the world will be a much better place for the majority of people. National identities would suffer, but if it improved the third world or inspires people to take more actions with regards to green issues, isn't it a worthy... More

We should stick with the system of "national citizenship" which has evolved over the centuries. Even if there were such a thing as "world citizenship", it would be a bad idea to let the United Nations be the governing body. It is a corrupt organization which does not respond to its constituencies. Instead it... More

We are residents of the world but citizens of a nation. National Sovereignty is what NO organization should overrule. That is why the Constitution overrules everything the UN wants to do. I will never be a citizen of the world or under world rule/laws. I am a citizen of America and ruled by its laws and Constitution... More

The UN can't solve their way out of a paper bag. Are you kidding? If the USA wasn't pouring our tax dollars into their bottomless pockets they would have packed up and gone home long ago. We need to keep our own Constitution going right here. Imperfect though it may be, it works for our good. Outrider

The UN has been and continues to be a useless, lopsided, pathetic shadow of it's original intention and really should just go away, much less be in charge of our legislative process; screwed up as it is. Many formerly dirt poor, destroyed countries are now wealthy because of us and they in turn now can't wait to turn... More

It is quite fine to consider yourself, philosophically, a citizen of the world. This can be the basis of understanding and cooperation amongst vastly differing cultures. However, if this philosophy gives you even a moment’s hesitation to recognize the fact that you have to defend the borders, language, and culture of... More

Most people want to keep their counties sovereignty only the Elite few want to have a New World Order, a One World Government so THEY can rule the world. Sovereignty acts as a bulkhead between countries, some countries are dictatorships, some are communist, etc, so it's a good thing to have, although we are and always... More
