What allows southwest airlines to provide no fees/surcharges while all other airlines nickel and dime you?

they don't have a checked bag fee or change of reservtion fee while delta now charges for first checked bag and all additional checked bag. What allows them to do that?

Because they do a much better job at controlling costs than other airlines. They are the masters of fuel cost hedging. They only fly one type of plane, Boeing 737s, which reduces their maintenance overhead. They have an extremely efficient ticketing system, and they only have a single passenger class.

That is their policy................they are great about those things. I'm sure they will continue this policy now fuel prices are so much better.
