Should Labour bail out Land rover?

My view is its sad that jobs will go, but if they can't sell cars now what the point in ploughing in more tax payers money to build new cars that they still won't be able to sell.

I don't get it, I assume TATA must be in dire straights too because they should be the ones bailing Land Rover out as their the owners! I think the best way would be a loan to TATA from the government with a security measure we would get the money back from their government if they could pay.

It was Labour's congestion charge and Road Tax changes that caused the destruction of this indigenous industry's sales.

No, as much as I think British icons should stay, the British government shouldn't bail out private companies, if so make them state owned. Along with the railways and power companies!

Why ?? The Indians only just bought it from the Americans ?? It's their problem now, not ours !! It would send a signal to every foreign company with a factory, shop or office in the UK that if they threaten to sack someone, the government will give them a free cash handout !!

If money is put in, ownership should be taken.

it could give them the chance to reshape and sell cars that people want. LR have just brought out the first 4X4 with stop start, it now gets 44mpg. Nationalising would work, they make terrible cars look at BL, yeah people are queueing up for those. lol
