What are the career options for entry level IT people who have been hit due to job scarcity in IT sector?

Since software development jobs are Now just a dream for fresh graduates or people with no experience. what are the various best career options that Computer Science, Information Science or Technical students can pursue so as to be comparable with the Software Development Sector.

I do NOT think that now is any different from any other time in terms of job prospects for graduates... Some companies still run graduates' induction programs in their field - try to look up any software development (or just larger) companies in your area and contact them to see if they have options like that. Try to find an employer sponsored training program that guarantees a job at the end BUT dont go for one where you have to pay for the fees. Some of these are government sponsored. Alternatively apply for low paid IT job but try to stick to the financial sector. John citytechforum.com

Well as with any job you need experience the best way i found was to start doing short contracts! this way you will quickly amass lots of how its really done knowledge rather than what you learn at uni and also experience once you have the experience you will be able to get a half decent job.
