Any suggestions for a good baby gate?

Olivia is 7 months and crawling everywhere...we just moved into an second floor apartment and need a good gate to put at the top of our stairwell....I just bought a cheap Evenflo one for $10 at Wal Mart and it'll do the job for now but soon when she starts trying to climb it won't be sturdy enough...any suggestions?

make sure you get one that actually mounts to the wall, it is safer for the top of the stairs. other than that choose one that fits your needs, i have one that has a light that is motion sensitive and is great for those nights when my daughter is teething.

pet catalogs are a great place to look for baby gates that are long; i know it seems weird but it is cheaper to buy one for a large doorway than most baby places

I work in a daycare and use the one listed below in sources. It's kind of a lot of money, but it's sturdy...we have one of every door and even kids 8-10 years old can't push it over haha. We've never had an escaper through it, and it's high enough that again, older kids can't climb over it.

I have the same one as sheloves... We like it. We needed a walk-through because I am short and can't step over. My 1 year old is trying her hardest to figure out how to open it- no luck yet!

My 15 month old does fine with the $10. If she tries to climb up it, I just tell her no. She listens and only tried it a few times.....
