Jobs in the Navy for a culinary student?

Hi. I have a friend from high school who, for some reason, decided to join the Navy. At first I was really concerned about what kind of job she'll get because I'm worried she might get hurt somewhere down the road. However, before she enlisted, she took some culinary classes at a college. So with that, I'm wondering if there's anyone out there in the Navy who knows how jobs go, and if my friend will be getting a cooking job or something. The military wouldn't assign someone a random that doesn't meet their skills, would they?

She will be tested to see for what jobs she's qualified... More

If she enlisted to be a cook, she'll be a cook. It will be vastly different, however, than her culinary classes.

just becuase she took some cooking classes does NOT mean anything. the Navy will train her in whatever rating she chooses..and she did NOT necessarily choose CS.
