What attracted people to the urban cities in the late 19th Century?

What brought in waves of immigration from foreign countries as well as rural areas? What caused such drastic urbanization in the late 1800's to occur?

Jobs was the main one, the factories, were all in the city, people lost their land and moved

jobs, anonymity and luxuries . They could start fresh with a new life. Cities also offered luxuries that were not found in rural areas ie plays, concerts, and stores with fancy clothes. Cities also got electricity and indoor plumbing before rural residents.
