I have a numbness in my thigh, can a Chiropractor help?

I think it may have been caused by a desk job I had for a couple of years. I had a thick wallet and kind of leaned more to one side, and over the past few months my thigh has been getting very numb/tingley when I sit and lay in certain positions. Even a small area of the skin feels a little bit different to the touch. It feels like it's asleep, but often stops when I stand. Could this be fixed by seeing a chiro?

A chiropractor cannot fix your condition or any other. At best they would just make your muscles feel better. It would be best to first see your doctor or an orthopedic specialist. I would advise that your do everything you can to avoid chiropractic treatment as it will often do more harm than good... More

Wow I experience the same symptoms and went to my doctor, he said that it is due to lack of exercise and emphasized that people who work office jobs usually get it! I started going to the gym and it worked. I mean it took about a few weeks but since October I haven't felt that numbness again.

Find a good seat cushion for your chair. Be sure that it has some substance and softness to it and that will relieve the numbness.

My guess is that it is caused by your sciatic nerve... More

It could be caused from a pinched nerve and a chiropractor can certainly help. Find one that does mainly bone manipulation, popping. I sit a lot at my job as tend to get the same problem, can hardly wait to get to my doctor for an adjustment. Feels so good afterward that I often wonder why I have waited for the pain... More
