Did anyone else see the documentary the other night about the Elephants?

I didn't realise just what sensitive creatures they were. Is it true that a group of elephants saved loads of children during the Tsunami? I heard they started taking them to the top of a hill before it happened and were acting very strangely.

No, but I've seen documentaries on elephants, and they're not always that gentle. In fact they can be very violent when it suits them, and have been known to go on rampages, killing anything that stands in their way.

We are finding elephants to be not only very intelligent, but also very in tune with their worlds in ways we are trying to understand. It is true about them leading kids top safety, and that they can go on rampages. They feel stress much like we do, and deal with it in many of the same ways.
