What is the most effective way to recruit part time employees?

I will be helping out this summer at a seasonal resort, one of the responsibility's I will have is recruiting PT employees, with a very low budget. What are some hiring practices used? Positions would be for wait staff, security, housekeeping. Mostly just seasonal but can result in permanent.

Temp agencies, newspaper ads (make sure you list under TEMPORARY or SEASONAL employment so there is no confusion) and job-posting sites. If you want college students, contact the college's Career Services department to post a job listing. Or attend one of their career fairs as a participant. High school guidance... More

you can try job banks , also college job listings might be good place to list jobs as many will be looking for part time work , another place to advertise be the nearest high school as they will also be looking for summer jobs . thats where i'd start .

I have found referrals to be highly effective. When you approach your full-timers about this, ask them, "would you want to work with this person?" Also contact any local colleges or universities. Many of those students like to stay local during their school breaks and need employment only for the summer. Good luck.

Where is the resort located? If it is in a nice area frequented by tourists and close to a university or college it may sell itself. If there is a university or college close by then contact the school newspaper and see if you can advertise just before their summer break.
